Update: Federal Hemp Law
The federal hemp law changes on December 11, 2026. Here is what you need to know.
The 2018 Farm Bill deemed hemp as legal as long as it contained <0.3% THC. This led to a boom of hemp/CBD products available on the market. This bill has allowed Jannabis Wellness to provide customers with safe, high-quality hemp CBD products to address pain, sleep, anxiety, and more.
Last year, Congress passed a law that will change the definition of hemp - which is slated to go into effect as of December 11, 2026. This will impact anyone who uses hemp/CBD products.
This new law will prevent the sale and distribution of a large amount of hemp CBD products available, including many products that we have available here at Jannabis Wellness.
Why Ban Hemp?
According to the Food and Drug Administration, over 70% of CBD products on the market are mislabeled.
The looming hemp ban law was passed because of this very reason - there are limited regulation in place to protect consumers. There are unfortunately many brands on the market that contain contaminants (such as mold and pesticides) and often do not contain the amount of CBD claimed on the label - or any CBD at all.
Jannabis Wellness has had great pride on providing high-quality CBD products that are third party lab tested for purity and quality. Our hemp-derived CBD is organically grown in the US. and expertly made to ensure that our customers are getting the best possible product.
Which Jannabis Wellness products will be unavailable in December?
These products are full spectrum CBD products. Full spectrum formulas contain all of the hemp plant's beneficial components including cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. These products contain a legal, tiny, non-intoxicating amount of THC which helps to increase the effectiveness of CBD. By including all parts of the plant in a full spectrum product, you will get maximum therapeutic value due to the entourage effect, where the parts of the plant work together synergistically.
Unfortunately, the new hemp law will prevent the sale of full-spectrum hemp CBD products, including the ones listed above.
Which Jannabis Wellness products will remain available after the hemp ban?
These products are broad spectrum CBD products. Broad spectrum CBD products include all of the beneficial parts of the hemp plant, minus the THC. These hemp CBD products will remain available after the hemp ban. The federal law will limit hemp products to no more than 0.4 mg of THC per container. The two Jannabis Wellness products above comply with the upcoming restriction.
Congress can still change this
The hemp ban is not final until December 11th when Federal funding is set to expire. This gives Congress a deadline to pass a spending bill which creates an opportunity to update the federal hemp law. Lawmakers are considering proposals that would replace the current limits with a more comprehensive regulatory framework for hemp. I will keep this page updated as Congress takes action.
How you can take action
Find your lawmakers using congress.gov/members/find-your-member to see your senators and representative. This will provide you with their phone numbers and contact forms. Call or email - anything counts when you share your story of why keeping full spectrum hemp products is important.
Here is a script of what you can say or write to your lawmakers.
"My name is [name] and I am a constituent from [city, state]. I am calling about the federal hemp restrictions that take effect on December 11, 2026. I rely on full spectrum hemp products for [your reason]. The new limits will take these products away. Please support legislation that allows full spectrum hemp products to remain on the market."
