Janice Newell Bissex

The first FNCEFriday was held at Janice's home, when she decided it would be fun to entertain her RDN colleagues when FNCE was in Boston. There were about 60 attendees who took a chartered bus from the Boston convention center for a sponsored, catered meal. When sponsors asked if she would host a similar event at the next FNCE she contracted with a cooking school in Chicago to host in 2017. Sponsors kept asking about the next year so she has continued hosting this event the night before FNCE begins. In 2020 and 2021 when FNCE was not able to be in person, FNCEFriday was online with a discussion on affordable eating and hunger relief fundraiser and a DIY charcuterie demonstration/cook-along.
